Pair of, LC1 or Fauteuil Dossier Basculant (tilting back chair) by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret for Cassina. First introduced in 1929 at the Salon d’Automne. The LC series and in particular the LC1 is a keystone in the history of modern design. These particular chairs, being consecutive in serials numbers, were purchased in the UK, then brought to Australia when the family immigrated. The frames have been kept in beautiful condition with only minor signs of age. The leather pieces have been replaced through their lives, seat and back rest earlier and arm rests recently. Both chairs are available to view in our showroom.
Condition: Chrome is in very good condition for age, showing minor signs of age. A recent polish has removed existing blemishes. Leather on the seat and back rest shows some signs of age towards the edges as per normal. Arm rests have been replaced more recently and match the chairs well. Both incredible pieces of design history.
